Why I Made This

Wearing a continuous glucose monitor has changed my life. I do not have a choice, I have Type 1 diabetes (T1D).

Honestly - I never wanted to get a CGM. I was already using an insulin pump and I was insecure about having another "thing" on me 24/7. I thought I was already doing well enough. Back then I was young, ignorant, and wanted to look good with my shirt off.

But then, everything changed when something happened to someone close to me…

Unironically, in 2015 - the girlfriend I was dating at the time was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. Don't worry, I'm confident that T1D is not contagious (except for that outlier incident). Her doctor put her on a Dexcom G6 glucose monitor. Yea - that thing I refused to use myself.

Once I saw that trendline and data points I had the "this is going to change everything" moment. I went to my doctor and told her I was ready to try this thing out.

That's when everything changed.

I no longer had to guess what my blood sugar was. I could see what it was, where it was trending, and the impact of every single item of food I ate. Having T1D exacerbates the impact of all these choices. I have researched, tested, and done experiments on my own body to see what spikes my glucose (and what doesn't).

After doing this for over 10+ years, I started to talk about what I was doing publicly. I would share my experience and people took note. I noticed with the rise in metabolic health platforms and release of over the counter CGMs more and more people were coming to me asking questions like:

  • • I don't understand the data I'm seeing, help?!
